‘The Earth Beneath My Feet’
(Completed in 2021 in response to Covid)

So many changes over the past year+, but the rhythm of nature is a constant in which I take solace. Daily walks with my dog restore my being. Nature provides a steadiness through its familiar cycles/seasons that help create a sense of certainty. For my submission, I offer an earthy vessel reflecting upon one of the things that I am grateful for … the earth beneath my feet. May this earth be a place of healing, a place of learning, discovery and exploration.

My ‘Blue Coral Reef Hat’ was juried into the summer 2019 issue of Fiber Art Now.
Nuno-felted using multiple resists to achieve ruffles and to expose the beaded treasures underneath.
Materials used: Dyed Merino wool top, dyed silk hankies, silk fabric, beads, ceramic button.
